Yesterday, Lyla & Bryce turned 3 months old. Slowly, but surely, we’ve gotten into a rhythm that works for us.

For the first 3 months, they slept in the original size Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper next to our bed. It worked out great. We would crank the white noise, swaddle them, give them their pacifiers, and put them down.

But the last couple of weeks, they started really squirming and we would find Lyla right next to Bryce in the morning with her swaddled feet in his ribs. We decided that last Friday was the day and it was time to reclaim our bedroom and put them each into their own cribs.

I don’t want to jinx it, but it’s been a very successful 4 nights. And we have our room back!! Time for some baby making! Ha, if only it were that easy. And if only I had the energy. Double ha.

I’ve got my twins on a somewhat loose schedule to keep my sanity and to be able to plan when I can count on some naps, so I can get stuff done. Or sit on the couch and do NOTHING and have some me time. ;-) Here’s what our day looks like:

WAKE: 6:45am

Eat, Play, Sleep

MORNING NAP: 8:45am

UP FROM NAP: 10:45am

Eat, Play, Sleep

AFTERNOON NAP: 1pm

UP FROM NAP #2: 3pm

Eat, Play, Sleep

LATE AFTERNOON NAP: 5pm

UP FROM NAP #3: 6pm

Eat, Play, Bath, Bed

BATHS/BOTTLE: 7:30pm

BED: 8pm

So, for now, this seems to be working for us. They sleep for roughly 15 hrs. a day and are awake for about 9. They are great sleepers, especially at night. They wake once in the night around 1:30am to eat and then they go right back down.

We’ll see what happens over the next 3 months. I’m sure these babies will keep us on our toes!
